The work in this exhibition was just as good, if not better, than his previous stuff. I really love the layers and textures he uses and the way he manipulates what is essentially paper waste into these hard and rough but beautiful pieces. In fact, back when I was in 6th form, I did a project which studied his work along with two other artists; Conor Harrington and Robin Rhode. One of the things I did in this project was an experimental piece on an enourmous piece of board which combined the methods of all three. I had endless fun layering magazine pages and manipulating them with things such as paint, polyfiller, bleach, glue, wallpaper paste and varnish.
While at the gallery I picked up a couple of interesting postcards which I only looked at properly later that evening. They were images from his video 'The Clock' which is on exhibition at the White Cube. The video is made up of moments in different films when time is expressed or when a character interacts with a clock, watch or just a the time of the day.
