On the afternoon of Friday the 15th my group met at Old Street ready to have our eyes opened to all the exciting things going on that could broaden our sources of inspiration by our tutor, Paul. I was particularly happy that went out and about in this area as I live 5 mins up the road. We began by visiting the Kemistry Gallery, a small but really interesting space which focuses mainly on Graphic Design. The exhibition they had on was about the art-director Lou Dorfsman. It included a life-size print of his amazing piece 'Gastrotypographicalassemblage' but also a staggering sixty example of his work for CBS.
The gallery also had on sale a collection of original screen-prints by a number of different designers and illustrators. I particularly liked the work by Copenhagen based designers Hvass & Hannibal and was even more impressed by the work on their website.
