Last term during our letterpress inductions we were given a mini-project which was intended to help us learn how to use the equipment more efficiently. We spilt into groups and were each given a typeface. My group was given was Baskerville. We then had to research this typeface and us letterpress to make a page representing that font which would then be part of a collection of pages (done by different groups) of all the typefaces in letterpress. We decided to tie in the significance of the upper case Q and the typeface's origin in Birmingham by creating a piece that formed the pattern of the Bull Ring Shopping Centre in the city. It's taking quite a while to get all those Q's in the right places...
